On closer inspection, however, the striking duo in question is Demi Moore and her 19-year-old daughter Rumer Willis.
The pair stepped out in Beverly Hills last night having clearly synchronised their red carpet looks.
Like mother, like daughter: Demi Moore and 19-year-old daughter Rumer Willis appeared at an event in Beverly Hills last night looking very similar, having clearly synchronised their outfits
It marked a personal triumph for aspiring actress Rumer, who has endured a tough time on the subject of her looks.
Over the past couple of years, she has been subjected to a litany of disparaging comments, particularly from internet critics, regarding her appearance.
But last night her glamorous appearance was hard to fault as she made a stunning turn on the red carpet alongside mother Demi and stepfather Ashton Kutcher, 30.

Rumer and Demi arrived at an event last night at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
A proud Demi, who has two other children with Willis, 16-year-old Scout LaRue and Tallulah Belle, 14 wrapped a supportive arm around her eldest daughter.
She and Rumer were joined at the party by husband Ashton, who attracted considerably less attention for his dubious fashion choice of a skin-tight white suit and trilby hat.

Meanwhile, it emerged today that Demi and Ashton are at the centre of a health scare following a report that a waitress at Ashton's 30th birthday party tested positive for hepatitis A.
According to Star magazine, a source at the New York Board of Health has said that celebrities who attended the party on 7 February at New York club Socialista should submit to testing for the virus.
A-list guests at the function who could be affected include Madonna, Kate Hudson, Demi's ex-husband Bruce Willis and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Other celebrities who attended were Salma Hayek and her husband, Ivanka Trump, stylist Rachel Zoe, and designer Roberto Cavalli.
A source at the New York Board of Health told America's Star magazine: "A report will go out tomorrow that everyone who was at the club at Feb. 7, 8 and 11 will need to be tested," says the source.
Clubgoers have been asked to return for a health screening today.
