Nancy Dell'Olio: 'I slapped Sven the moment I found out about Faria Alam affair'

Nancy Dell'Olio slapped her partner Sven Goran Eriksson when she learned he was having an affair with Football Association (FA) secretary Faria Alam, she admitted today.

The Italian property lawyer, who had already had to put up with the then England soccer coach having an affair with TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson, reacted angrily to the "ridiculous" news about Ms Alam.

Ms Dell'Olio laughs during a TV interview to be shown tomorrow night when former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan reminds her that Ms Alam had been having affairs both with Eriksson and FA chief Mark Palios.

She said: "I mean it's still really ridiculous and a - very, very poor story."

And she added: "The truth was he'd been with this person, but again having sex and nothing else. And he was definitely very desperate. But this time I've been ask him to go."

Morgan asks: "This is when you hit him. Slapped him?"

Ms Dell'Olio replies: "Well, yes."

Nancy says she slapped Sven after she found out about his affair with Faria Alam

In the interview she confirms she had the best sex of her relationship with Eriksson when the Jonsson story broke in the Daily Mirror, then edited by Morgan, two years earlier, in 2002.

Morgan asks: "All the time that Ulrika's people are saying to me, he's going to leave, you're having the best sex of your entire relationship with him."
Ulrika Jonsson

Sven had already had an affair with Ulrika Jonsson before Faria

"I think's yes," she agrees.

She calls Jonsson "stupid" for having been "scathing", as Morgan puts it, about her.

"How how poor - how so silly and completely disgraceful, say for anyone to talk about somebody else, that you don't know. And very I mean, is no style, no class, and very - I mean we're talking very, very, very low level here."

She says she went back to him after the second affair, when the Swede begged her to do so.

"I was still in love, and I know that he was in love with me."

However, when she published her autobiography, Eriksson split up with her, for invading his privacy, although she barely said anything bad about him, the programme says.

She confirms Eriksson was "very generous" to her when they split up.

Morgan interviews Ms Dell'Olio at 10.35pm on Monday night in The Dark Side of Fame, on BBC1.

Nancy Dell'Olio launches her lingerie range and her flyaway new hairdo

Nancy Dell'Olio revealed a stunning new look at the launch of her latest venture.

The former WAG-turned-lingerie designer showed off her curly bobbed hairstyle which has grown back since she chopped off her raven locks following the end of her relationship with former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson.

Not content to just wash that man out of her hair - she had cut him out altogether.

Last November, Nancy was seen sporting a sleek elfin-shaped bob

Miss Dell'Olio said she decided to have the £300 cut on a whim to replace her trademark long flowing locks.

But now that her jet-black locks have grown back, she's had them styled into a glossy, curly bob.

Looking stunning in a figure-hugging grey dress, the ex-lawyer launched her collection of racy lingerie ND Nightwear at Park Lane bar The Met.

But despite the collection of thin, scantily clad models hanging around, it was Nancy who garnered much of the spotlight.

The range which is being previewed at London Fashion Week before going on sale next year, consists of mainly nightwear and 'sophisticated pieces of underwear' which Nancy was eager to show off.

Still single since breaking up with Sven in 2006, Nancy told The Daily Telegraph: 'No, I am not in a relationship at the moment. It's not something I like and I hope that I may meet someone.

'However, I can cope very well on my own. I think that if you don't enjoy your own company then it's difficult to be with anyone else.

'And I also think that I am a very tough person. That doesn't mean that I am not sensitive.

'I have this very strong image and I think this absolutely reflects who I am. Strong and intelligent.'

Nancy Dell'Olio flaunts her fabulous figure on the high seas

Nancy Dell'Olio looks stunning as she celebrated her birthday on a cruise of the Greek islands.

Sven-Göran Eriksson's former partner flaunted her honed and toned figure as she swam in the Adriatic Sea with some female friends.

Dell'Olio's celebrated her birthday on Friday - but what age she was turning is anyone's guess.

While some sources have put the Italian lawyer's birthdate as early as 1958, while would have made her 50 last week, other sources claim she was born in 1960 or 1964.

In her autobiography My Beautiful Game , New York-born Dell'Olio claimed she was born after the Cuban Missile Crisis, which took place in October 1962.

But whatever age she is, few onlookers would disagree she is terrific shape.

Dressed in a leopard print bikini which complimented her golden tan, Dell'Olio happily swam in the open sea.

In an interview with You magazine earlier this year, Dell'Olio claimed to be a UK size 6 dress size.

Since finally splitting from former England coach Eriksson in late 2006, Dell'Olio has thrown herself into various projects, including work for the Red Cross and her own charity Truce International.

After publishing her autobiography last year, Dell'Olio is now writing a second book, which she has described as a 'documentary, quite a mix of everything - fiction, lifestyle'.

She is also planning to launch a lingerie and nightwear line called N.D. next February.

She told the Mail earlier this month: 'The label is currently in the development stages and I’m looking forward to taking it to the trade shows in September.

'I have designed the range with the thought of Fifties Italian glamour in mind and I’m very excited about the launch.’

Nancy Dell'Olio: 'I have boyfriends, but my love for Sven will never die'

One is a highly respected political pioneer – the first black woman to sit in the British Cabinet and only the third woman ever to become leader of the House of Lords.

The other gained international notoriety for her tempestuous love affair with a libidinous England soccer manager and her attention-seeking fashion sense.

But Baroness Amos, recently appointed EU special representative to the African Union, and Nancy Dell'Olio, on-off girlfriend of Sven-Goran Eriksson, have formed a close, if unlikely, friendship.

Controversial: Nancy Dell'olio and Baroness Amos at the event

And this week Lady Amos, 54, stunned a distinguished audience at the Italian Embassy in London's Grosvenor Square by publicly asking Miss Dell'Olio: "What's going on with Sven?"

Miss Dell'Olio, 46, was launching the paperback version of her autobiography My Beautiful Game and had just delivered a rambling speech in her unique Anglo-Italian, entirely devoted to her efforts as an author and charity fundraiser. There was pointedly no mention of the dreaded S-word.

Then the floor was thrown open to questions and Lady Amos, who was sitting in the front row, took the microphone first.

"Nancy, I'd like to ask a question on behalf of magazine readers everywhere," the Labour life peer began, to gasps from the audience which included the Italian ambassador Giancarlo Aragona, his English wife Sandra and Princess Diana's wedding dress designer Elizabeth Emmanuel.

"In your book, you said the love affair with Sven continues. What exactly does that mean?"

Whether Lady Amos's Heat magazine moment arose from mere curiosity, an attempt to help a friend drum up publicity for her book or to give her the opportunity to wax lyrical on one of her favourite subjects – her love life – Miss Dell'Olio didn't hold back.

Love affair: Nancy and Sven's relationship was a very public affair

To embarrassed smirks from some of her audience, the fiery Italian – wearing a purple off-the-shoulder minidress and vertiginous wedge heels – launched into an emotional account of her relations with the current manager of Manchester City.

"When you love someone it's so difficult," she began. "I have boyfriends, yes. But part of Sven will stay with me always and part of me will stay with him. A love like that can never, ever end, even if you have to be apart.

"We're leading separate lives. We need this time. Speaking on the phone every day doesn't make it easy. So it is regretful that we decide to be apart. But as for the future, who knows?"

It's not just Miss Dell'Olio's heart that still bears the marks of the ten-year relationship – through which Eriksson had a string of affairs including Ulrika Jonsson and FA secretary Faria Alam. Nancy still sports short hair after cutting off her locks when they split in late 2006.

Afterwards, Lady Amos told guests she and Miss Dell'Olio had met through "mutual friends" and were "very close".

"As soon as I saw her tonight I told her I was going to ask that question," she said. "It's the one thing everyone wants to know about, so why not? Nancy didn't mind a bit.

"I don't think there's anything odd at all about us being friends. I like football, too, but I support Tottenham and definitely not Manchester City."
